Atlanta workers’ compensation lawyer defending the rights of hardworking Georgians
Christopher Gifford has been practicing law for more than eight years, during which time he has worked exclusively in the field of worker’ compensation. For the first five years of practice, he represented employers and insurance companies where he gained extensive knowledge and insight into how work injury claims are handled from the other side.
Now, Chris dedicates 100% of his practice to help injured workers and employees. For the last three years, he has used his unique experience representing both employee and employer-side interests to serve the hardworking people of Atlanta, Athens and throughout the state of Georgia.
Education
Chris is a graduate of Cumberland School of Law in Birmingham, Alabama and has an undergraduate degree in History from the University of Georgia. Prior to attending law school, he taught middle school social studies in Atlanta Public Schools.
Career
After law school, Chris sort of just fell into workers’ compensation. However, he soon discovered his calling to represent injured workers when he saw the inequities in the workers’ compensation system and how the odds are stacked against the hardworking Georgian in favor of the insurer. He made it his mission to help people who were not getting the benefits they deserved.
Chris worked for several defense firms as an attorney before joining Gerber & Holder Attorney At Law. He has taken and defended hundreds of depositions, participated in numerous settlement mediations, tried cases before the State Board of Workers’ Compensation and participated in appeals at the Superior Court and Georgia Court of Appeals.
Memberships
Chris is a member of the workers’ compensation section of the State Bar of Georgia and the Knights of Columbus.
Personal
Chris grew up in Macon, Georgia. In his spare time, he enjoys spending time with his wife and three children. He also likes playing tennis and golf.
